For some reason our another this has always been my favorite.
You really dont have to worry about the other players other than "how can I make them help me". The lawfull evil character ,in my opinion, are without a doubt the most powerful in the game.

I beg to differ. Generally a Lawful good player can better foster the support of fellow players and NPCs building up a more powerful collective force.

If you have to spend half the game trying to trick other players to do your bidding, usually having them consistently distrustful of your actions.

Now, that said, Evil does allow a generally greater amount of freedom in one's actions since you are beholden to no one really. And adding lawful to the evil does allow a thin layer of protection from retribution, but it is a constant balancing act, some DM's aren't too picky when evil is on the menu but I think if you are going to pick such a particular alignment one should tread lightly.

Though if you really think about it, lawful evil is the common form of evil in any reality, since most bad guys do keep in mind the law when doing their deeds, if only not to be caught.
